So happy to be ahead of the holiday card curve. Most years I plan to be on top of things and then before I know it, Thanksgiving is here and I am trying to get 50 cards made and mailed in time for Christmas. One year, I even changed all of my cards to “Happy New Year” cards just to buy myself an extra week. But this year, I am so on it! The plan is to create around five unique cards that I will duplicate and deliver to my loved ones. Although there will be duplicates, the sentiments inside of the cards will be customized for each recipient.
This is the very first in my 2014 Holiday Card series. This simple card relies on texture as a key feature. The background dots were easily created using “homemade” modeling paste and a stencil. While the paste was still wet I added silver glitter to accent the pattern. On some of the cards, I used Stickles glitter glue as a less messy and more controlled alternative to the glitter. A rub-on sentiment and a simple wreath embellishment finish off this clean and modern card. I love its glittery simplicity!
