Holiday Interrupted

ADL-Black Lives Matter-webSo, I interrupt this holiday flow to focus on the issues at hand.  The violence against Black men and boys at the hands of certain members of law enforcement followed by the lack of indictments or consequence, has me feeling “all types of ways.”  As I am still trying to figure out what I can do to contribute to positive change.  I decided to create an art canvas to help me work through my feelings and “woosah” just a bit.

This piece entitled #BlackLivesMatter is a collage that uses paper scraps from my scrapbooking stash, magazine and pamphlet cut outs, wooden embellishments, alphabet stickers (Thickers) and homemade enamel dots.  I used Liquitex Heavy Gel Medium to adhere most of the pieces.  It was my first time using this product.  It worked nicely but I can’t say that I am in love.  Might need to try a few more products before I can say that.

Check out the video if you would like to see how I created it.

Thank you Lisa. I had to get this off of my chest – it was weighing down my spirit.
